Regarding the mouse itself - the Deathadder is the mouse I have used for about 12 years. I can't fault the customer service because the swaps and refund were processed without question but trying to give people old products is dishonest and sly. I paid for a brand new one and that is what I expect to get. I don't know who has had it, what they did with it or why they decided to send it back. I don't want a product that someone else has used. I told them I wanted my money back and got a refund. I inspected the bottom and yet again, there were scuffs and scratches on the pads indicating it had been used already. That arrived 2 days later and when I opened it, it was once again packaged like a brand new one but it wasn't packed as well as the first one and when I removed the security tape, it basically popped open by itself. So I contacted Razer telling them about it and I said I wanted a brand new one and so they apologised and sent me out another one. The next day the new one arrived and was boxed as new but when I inspected the underneath, the were scuffs and scratches indicating it had been used already. I contacted Razer and they said they would send me another one. *****Razer are sending customers pre-owned or refurbished mice and packing them up as new.***** I didn't check my first one completely but after about a month or two, the left click started degrading and wasn't registering clicks or would sometimes do about 10 clicks in a split second which I assume was because it was cutting out repeatedly during one click.
#RAZER DEATHADDER ELITE GRIP TAPE PRO#
Actually, while waiting to get the mouse fixed, I bought a HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro (who makes up these names?) for £26 - so far, it's ever bit as good as the Razer! It came 4 days later and I fitted it no problem. So, my overall view would be that this is a really nice mouse when new, but the quality of build is not what I would expect of a supposed premium brand and their customer support is disappointing. In the meantime, I had been on eBay and found a replacement wheel for just over £3. Although I had made clear the part I needed and offered to pay, I got a (badly worded - I guess they outsource to India) reply that asked for yet more of the same details. I emailed Razer support in the US on 2 Dec and got a reply on 11 Dec (not quite the 24 hours they claim).
#RAZER DEATHADDER ELITE GRIP TAPE UPDATE#
All in all, disappointing for what is meant to be a high-end gaming mouse.Later - OK, an update to the situation. The photo below is of the mouse wheel with the end of the rod snapped off. This is prone to snapping and renders the mouse wheel useless. Googling the issue showed this is not uncommon and is caused by the fact that the mouse wheel axle is a thin rod of plastic, which tapers even further at the point it enters the position transducer. Secondly, and more importantly, the mouse wheel stopped working after almost 2 years.

Over time, the glue becomes loose and these panels move about, which is annoying and also exposes the tacky surface underneath.

The first is that each side of the mouse has rubber panels that have been glued on to provide a tactile surface. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2019Ī nice mouse and one that I have enjoyed using, but with 2 significant issues that came to light after 18-24 months of service.
